The first step is to complete “First Things First” as described above. This will cause your site to become live and minimize downtime as your domain is in transit.
Once your DNS settings are updated, make sure your domain is eligible for transfer. Your domain must have been created more than 60 days prior to the transfer beginning. Additionally, you must make sure that ‘privacy is disabled’ and ‘the domain is unlocked. Finally, you have to make certain that the Administrative Contact Email on the domain is current and that you can get emails there. From this point, the steps differ depending on who your original host/registrar is:

You can simply get in touch with your old host/registrar, and have them change the DNS servers to the Truepath DNS servers.
Be sure to recreate your email accounts through our control panel before you take this step! (email addresses and emails will not move with you between hosts, you will need to recreate all the emails on your new host and archive any emails that you want to save on your computer)
DNS stands for Domain Name System and serves as a sort of phone book that turns the names (domain names) into numbers (IP address). By changing the DNS servers, you are telling computers that visit your domain name to go to your new website, hosted at a different IP, instead of the old one. Changing DNS servers is different with each registrar, so in many cases the best option is to:

This will accomplish the goal of making your site go live. Usually within 4 – 6 hours on weekdays and 24 – 72 hours on a weekend, all of the DNS servers will propagate and your site will be visible to the world.

Even after completing this step, your domain will still be managed by whomever you registered it with while your actual website will be managed and hosted by Truepath. You will be billed by Truepath for hosting, but when your domain registration expires, you will have to pay your original host/registrar for registration.

First log in to the Domain Manager at GoDaddy.com
To disable locking, click ‘Manage’ next to the Locked: Locked entry, and change it to ‘Unlocked
Make sure the contact email is correct (especially the Administrative contact)
Under the Domain Manager, click the link next to the words ‘Authorization Code’ that says ‘Send by Email”
Email support@truepath.com that you would like to transfer your domain (include the domain in the email), and wait for the automated transfer request email
Once you get the email, click the confirmation link and then enter your authorization code
Go back to your GoDaddy Domain Manager and click the link for Pending Transfers, click the check box next to the domain in question and then click ‘Approve’
You’re done! Wait for the transfer to complete

First, go to enom.com and select ‘Log-in’ and enter your eNom username and password
From the My Account menu, click on ‘Registered Domains,’ then click on the domain you’d like to transfer
From ‘Domain Overview’ select ‘Contact Information’ and make sure that your administrative contact email is accurate
From ‘Domain Overview’ click on ‘General Settings’ and make sure that ‘Registrar-Lock’ is set to ‘Disable,’ then select ‘Email Auth Info to Registrant’ and click ‘Save’

Once you get the email, click the confirmation link and then enter your authorization code You’re done! Wait for the transfer to complete

Go to melbourneit.com.au and select ‘Log In’
Select ‘Manage Domain Names’
Click on the domain you would like to transfer
Make sure that the Administrative contact details are accurate, especially the Administrative Contact email address at the bottom, when you have made the necessary changes, hit ‘continue’ and when the screen that says ‘Update Successful’ pops up, click ‘Manage Domain Names’ to return to your domain manager.
Click on the domain to be transferred again, then select ‘Lock/Unlock Domain,’ at the next screen click ‘Unlock Domain.’ The lock status should now say ‘Unlocked
Click on Private Registration to change it from ‘Active’ to ‘Suspended’
Select ‘View Domain Password (AuthInfo), the Auth code will be displayed in the top right corner, make note of this number. You will need it to confirm the transfer.
